  • Long Quiet Day

My boys started school today.  I walked them into the building, met their teachers, and left them in the hands of someone else for their instruction for the first time in their lives.  I've gotten a lot of housecleaning done today.  Had a lot of time to think.  (Only got one phone call from the school, but I figure Tucker's taking it easy on them for at least the beginning.)

  • Tucker is the MAN! It only took him LESS THAN BUT NOT EQUAL TO one day to have the evil mom/dad call!

Oh how I adore the little fellow! After my own heart he is.

    Happy Halloween.

Also, stop by my site, read, and send an email telling me what "treat" you want.

    Sail on... sail on!!!

  • Starting publoc school on Halloween.  Now that is a "horror" story.   Just kidding.  I hope they both like it and do well.

  • I am so proud of you honey!

  • a whole new world... for all of you.

  • At least they have a short week.  And, how is mom holding up?

  • Thinking of you today.

  • ! That's got to be so hard. Here's hoping it all goes well.

  • I know this was a tough day for you.  If you want to talk, give me a call......   Sam

  • I was a little surprised to find this when I made my sometimes check in to Xanga. I know that your decision was made with wisdom and with love for the boys and for yourself. I hope the transition goes well for all of you. I know it isn't easy (and the cleaning to occupy the uneasy mind is familiar).

    Sending you love...

  • Wow.... I would be devastated to send my girls back to school. It wasn't any easier for me when my oldest was in school -- always the pressure to meet the standardized expectations. I felt like other people's interests ran our lives, told my daughter (and as a consequence, all of us) what to know and how to know it, who to be and how to be. But that's probably not what you want to hear right now. I know you have sound reasons for doing what you're doing. Good luck. I'll be wishing you and them the best.

  •   I bet it was a long, quiet day!    I probably would have spent half the day crying.  I hope your boys had a good day!

  • It HAS to be hard...  on everyone...  but it does sound as though the school is going the extra mile to be attentive to your family's needs...  that's always a promising sign.
