My Mommy Doesn’t Dress Funny …
… I know, because I go shopping with her and I don’t let her buy funny looking clothes.
Tucker’s therapist was trying to get him to answer the question of when it might be appropriate to tell a little white lie. She suggested that perhaps he might be tempted to spare my feelings if I was wearing something that didn’t look good on me.
After the session, she was telling me how it had gone, and then she had to look at me and ask, “Is it true? These outfits you wear … does he pick them out?”
Okay, the kid knows what he likes. My bff says that I look like a “Mom.” Its said with a certain affection, although from time to time I wish I looked a little more glamorous.
Last night Tucker shows me a PowerPoint that he did for his Infotech. It was all about him. He had slides describing his favorite subject, his favorite passtimes, and the person he admires most. He picked his Mom.
Oh, yeah. I’m bragging. He said, “She’s kind, she cooks really good, and she pays our bills on time and teaches me how to handle my money.”
It’s okay with me that I look like a Mom.

I can’t think of anything better in the world to look like (or to be). I have a habit of wearing shirtdresses and cardigans, which are pretty mommish too.
Mom rocks….especially quiltnmom(i).
My girls tell me when I am heading for the grandma-wear rack
I don’t mind mom clothes so much…there are cool-mom clothes to be found.
But what an awesome compliment
It is fun being a mom………..LOL………..hugs.
How old is your baby?? =]
That is AWESOME! He picked you as the person he admires most… what a wonderful compliment for any mom, especially one with teen kids. It’s so hard to stay close when they go chasing after a life away from home and girls. Who better to remind you that you are an EXCELLENT mom than your own child. CONGRATS! <3 SuZ
@MlleRobillard - Shirtdresses and cardigans are my staples. Tucker also chooses flat shoes for me, but that’s because he’s ALMOST taller than I am and he likes it that way.
@forever_love_ends_now - He’s eleven until December.
wow; i am so jealous, or was that hopeful;) (i have 9yr.girl)
and it seems to me, ms. quiltn, i’ve seen some pics here that would
indicate you could have any guy in the room, if you so desired. not
to mention those shoes i’ve seen here were no way mom shoes!
Sweet boys! My grown up daughters keep me in line……..such as brow waxing and not wearing high waisted straight legged jeans.
I dress like a mom too. ha! yay for mom jeans and tee shirts! but I want to be more glamorous too. Sigh* it just doesn’t go will with my laid back attitude.
I have an eleven year old too. wow and I was his “favorite person” subject on paper last year. HUGS that is so special!
