  • Awkward

I had intended to devote this blog to recapping the very interesting material that I gleaned from Saturday's workshop but something else has come up, so to speak.

So tonight I'm sitting in my chair, sipping a glass of water, reading a book that is irritating the crud out of me because the literary minded author decided not to puncutuate any of her character's conversation as conversation when my phone beeped to let me know I had a message.

    A picture message

Which turned out to be a photo of something that I wasn't sure was anatomically possible before this evidence appeared on that tiny little screen.

Now I had to decide, should I text the sender back and inform her that she had sent an image of her lady parts to a total stranger?

    What would you do?

  • Ha! Is this the new version of an obscene phone call!??! Can you imagine the conversation with whoever she MEANT to send it to??! "So, how did you like it?!" "Like what?!" "The photo I sent you." "What photo?!" "My 'hoohaw" contortion photo!" "I didn't get any photo from you!" "OMG! Wonder who got it." Teehee! If it was me, I'd wait  for at least a day and then text her and tell her. I'd come up with some witty message to say to her! Ha! I'm sorry I'm laughing, but I think this is funny!

I read "The Road" this past year, and the author does not punctuate any of the conversation either. OR really even identify who is talking. You just have to keep up. I got used to it after awhile. It was a very interesting book and I was thinking about the story for weeks afterwards.

Hugs and Happy Wednesday to you!

  • after i stopped laughing?
i'd have to think about it for a few, but i'm sure i'd be really tempted to reply w/a "wrong #" message.
depends on if and how well i knew the sender.

  • oh, my I would probably delete and ask after-what should I have done before I thought.lol

  • All my obscene phone calls are collect calls.  I would probably hit reply.  (That returns the original message) along with my, gee thanks....but I am not sure I want to take our relationship to the next level.  LOL

  • that reminds me of a line from a sitcom i say all too often:

"after a long day at work, i don't need to see that!!"

    eeek!

  • Post it on the Internet with her phone number.  LOL

  • Better a stranger than somebody from your contact list... Tell her.

  • laughing!!! text her back with a thanks no thanks i don't swing that way! a friend of mine got a voice mail from a complete stranger thanking her for a one night stand and expressing in great detail what he appreciated about the night before. she was on her way to church and wasn't sure exactly how to respond. but we figured the girl hadn't appreciated him as much as he had her and had given him the wrong number on purpose... :)

  • Oh, I'd call back---and probably give her a Mom lecture too!

  • I'd tell her thanks for the picture and you posted it on yourmy blog and all 700 of your subscribers and everyone on your email list got it with her phone number.  In reality, I'd contact her and tell her the intended recipient is still waiting for his electronic fantasy.

  • Hahaha!  After I was done dying I would seriously consider what LuckyStars said.  Say something snarky like, "While I appreciate the view. . . you got the wrong number."  lol

  • @DawnsEarlyLight - @PollyannaPest - @LuckyStars - @jillcarmel - @vexations - @sean808080 - @NefariousJerrius - @moniet - @jerjonji - @MaryVerina - @Lanateyony - @santiago - Okay here's what I actually did - First, I looked at the photo more than once before I deleted it, because it is still amazing to me how she got her lady bits to do that.  So MAYBE I'm a pervert or at least one of those people who rubber neck at train wrecks.  Then I waited about three hours, and sent this text back:

"I'm pretty sure I don't know you, although it was difficult to tell from the angle of the photo you sent."

    I received back three immediately:

OMG!  I SENT THAT TO A STRANGER?!

    I'M SO SORRY

    I'M REALLY SO VERY SORRY

  • you have a fun life!

  • @quiltnmomi - i don't think it's perverted as much as extreme curiosity! besides as a writer.... one never knows when one can use such a thing! can't you see one of your characters getting it??? ps. still laughing...

  • You definitely have to be curious about these things.  I mean, got her puss to do what?!  lol  The message you sent her was WONDERFUL!  And I love her replies.  That's what I was hoping, in my sick little way, would happen.  That it really was accidental and not a purposeful misdial prank.    Poor girl.

  • OMIGOSH!  This is hilarious....LOL  I'm glad you'd settled it before I came by.

  • Oh, your reply was very well said!!!   At least she was sorry and will probably think twice next time!

  • There could be a stranger way to meet new people?

    LOL!~

  • ROFL!! Poor woman.

  • LOL
    Excellent response!

  • I've actually received "accidental" messages - so to speak - and when I texted the other person back to notify them of their mistake...............they tried to strike up a text conversation....and became really rather annoying to downright rude and then maliciously abusive.  All that in the space of 4 text messages of "Sorry, you've got the wrong number".  Ugh.  I had to have them blocked.

  • i'm catching up, that is hilarious! i have not received one of those yet
