Koko-Puffs R Me
*Updated*
Kokopelli appears in Native American art, petroglyphs over 1000 years old, and on tee shirts all over the Southwest. What he represents depends in large part upon which source you read. He's a hunchbacked flute player who may also be a traveling peddler with a bag of seeds on his back.
Kokopelli is fun, fertility, music, and trickster energy. I like Kokopelli. I have a Kokopelli key chain, Kokopelli shower churtain with matching bath accessories, Kokopelli figures on my book shelf, Kokopelli wine glasses, and a Kokopelli art thingy over my fireplace with six Koko-figures holding hands, dancing, - Oh, and a larger Kokopelli figure on the wall of my patio. Cool Mary and I have Koko-pelli tee shirts (not matching) and we laughingly call him Koko-puffs.
Yesterday, Cool Mary mentioned that from the first time I introduced her to the mythic figure she thought, "Well, of course, he's just like her!" I hadn't considered that before, but now that the idea has had 24 hours to percolate in my brain, I'm liking it more and more. Mary wasn't too sure how I'd take her observation. I guess there are some people who might be offended at the suggestion of a tricksy personality. I'm not one of them.
We talked a little bit about that tricksy bit. And the more she said about it, the better I liked it. For sure and for definite, I'm not boring.
I like the idea that I may have already achieved my aspiration to be quirky without realizing it. In fact, I feel so good about it, I'm thinking of dedicating my after meditation breaths to being grateful that I'm the kind of person who adds fun to the lives of my friends.

One of the things that Michael's Autism group has been working on is "unexpected behavior". Because they don't understand that their behavior is "unexpected" they can't relate to people being freaked out by it. To them it's perfectly normal. So a member of the group sent us this video today with a rather drastic example of "unexpected behavior".

The video is brilliant! This is a series of events as I have seen the same guy announce other "pranks" if you will. It's human art, if you ask me!
I agree that a brilliant video.
@RnBoW_SPOT - I've seen this group doing other "missions" on an episode of This American Life. They are really pretty cool.
Woa, that video is wicked cool.
Performance art. Love it.
Street theater! We used to have a small group that would do things like that on the city streets. I love it.
I like kokopelli too -- but I read this really spooky horror story about him years ago and I always think about that when I see him anymore.
Cooool!
I have a kokopelii wallhanging in a box that i still haven't finished ... in like 5 years! maybe some day...maybe not.
i laughed and laughed at that video when i saw it this week somewhere else. i like that you are like kokopelli too. i like that you like that you are like kokopelli. and... i need some writing time so we can have some productive face-to-face time! i'm aiming for next week!
They did that in London, too.!
When Hubs and I took a month-long hiking trip in '85, we became fascinated with the ancient and present-day Pueblos and Hopis. We visited as many Anasazi ruins as we could cram in, maxed-out our 500 dollar limit credit card on pottery and art, and even bought Kachina dolls. Kokopelli was my favorite then. I suppose he translates in the South to Brer Rabbit.
Kokoterri!
Yeah, that Improv stunt was WAY cool!
Interesting video! We have some books in common I see. A New Earth and The Art of Happiness
I've told you lots of times that you're fun to hang around with. I laugh more when we're together than at any other time.
I dunno why but that reminds me of "Trix are for Kids" and that silly rabbbit.
Say....did you get your jammies at Walmart 'cause I think I saw them yesteray and I thought of you.
@DawnsEarlyLight - I DID get my jammies at Walmart! I usually shop for lingerie at Dillards because I love their lines, but these were inexpensive and fun and I broke with my habits and indulged myself.
LOL. I thought so! I was traveling from the grocery side of the store clear to the other side for toothpaste when I walked past the pj department and there they were! I said to myself, "Hey...those look like quiltnmomi's pjs!" And then I thought about getting a pair for myself but I didn't want my frozen and cold stuff to get unfrozen and uncold so I just kept on traveling. LOL. (And I wanted to hurry home to Daisy dog! LOL)
I've never heard of the little critter. Looks interesting though.
So did it teach Michael's Autism class? That was a wild video. I put in on my other blog sites.
That video was great! Brilliant idea!
Can you imagine the soul of the artist who first created Kokopelli to see his/her design everywhere like this, thousands of years later?
That video was great! I love it when people do things like that. There was this one where hundreds of people showed up at a Circuit City all wearing red shirts, so you couldn't tell if they were employees there or not. People freaked and thought it was some sort of terrorist thing.
