  • Thai Food


    That's what I did with my day off.  I went out with a group of co-workers for Thai food.  I ate too much, laughted a lot, and generally enjoyed my evening immensely. 


    Then the woman who drove invited me to the mall with her and her 14 year old daughter to view photos from an afternoon session at Glamour Shots.  Wow, beautiful photos and but so expensive.  I was shocked.  Even after the "discount" it was still over $1500 - so my friend is going to be thinking that one over. 


    I sort of promised that I would take it a little easier at work for the next couple of weeks.  I have just been really tired lately and probably have been pushing a bit hard. 


    July is a big month for me.  I have a trip planned to Iowa City for the Summer Writing Festival.  I'm signed up for two classes and I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself at the thought of what I'll learn and do and be inspired to do and shown HOW to do ...


    Two more weeks then I hit the road. 


    And this is all related because even though I promised to slow down a bit - I'd really like to pick up an extra shift or two across the next two weeks to get that extra money for the trip.  Decisions and promises.  ~sigh~


    I need to just trust that I have and am doing enough and keep my word, right? 


    I'll just hope that we have two very busy weeks at Mimi's and that the tips will be enough to make it all work out so that I'm comfortable enough to not fret.

  • I just dont get it. One minute you dont have enough cash for groceries and the next you are off to a writing fest and paying for classes. Glad you can do it. Jealous I guess. Might be something cool to add to your Authorden site!

  • I love me some Thai food ~ anything with that spicy peanut sauce!  Sounds like a fun month for you.  Ours is big too: we are headed to the beach in a few days.  Have a marvy time at your workshop. (((hugs!)))

  • Dreadpirate must not know about Mary, eh?    You know...I think it's true....there's something about Mary.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that ther last thing you hoped comes true.

  • wow, that is expensive!  Will this be the trip to go pick up your kids?  They're with your parents now, right?  (can't recall)

  • LOL, My husband used to be a Glamour Shots photographer.  They will basically hire anybody who walks in off the street and give them like, one day of training.  So your friend should keep that in mind before she shells out $1500.

    (I saw "Thai food" and my tummy rumbled. I don't have the ingredients for thai food. I have to make do with Ramen. Which is not quite the same at all... ;) )

  • I've never had Thai food - not even sure what that is *giggles*

    Don't overwork yourself... I've been there before - just remember to keep your eye on the goal I always think of a bunny with a carrot dangling ahead of her nose, running and running, and never getting that carrot! LOL Only in your case - you'll get the carrot!! :)  And for the bad days - it's just like the hampster running on that wheel - never really getting anywhere

    I envy you , but I shouldnt it's one of the seven you know what's , I'll just say wish I were going with you to Iowa . Have fun and take care
