  • Homeschooling Habits

Lettersat3am commented about my post yesterday, "I'm glad to see you still homeschooling the boys even though they are now in school" (or something like that, I'm not looking at her comment.)

I used to say it, that everyone homeschools.  But for some reason over the past year, I had forgotten that.  I've been all depressed about having the boys in a public school and "losing" that part of our relationship.  But she's right, and I'm thanking her for that reminder.  I am still schooling my kids.  And it's good.

I'm running late this morning, so I'm stopping here.  No fainting in the peanut gallery - I can write a short blog if I want to.

  • I am always debating putting M into school instead of homeschooling, but I chicken out last minute and keep plugging away.  Yes, you are still schooling your kids... good for you!

  • Parents are always teaching.....even when they think they aren't.    Now....why do I feel like half of this blog is missing?    Where's my Tucker Tale?

  • I used to think of public school as a supplement to what I taught at home.  They did the boring stuff, I did the fun stuff--the enrichment and cool fieldtrips

  • Everyone homeschools, yes. But not everyone has the guts or the faith, or the means or the desire, to take their children out of school and homeschool exclusively. Not everyone has to. You will always be a homeschooler at heart, no matter where your children are, and you will keep that perspective of what's most important, and so will they.

  • I think homeschooling can rob kids of adequate socialization with peers. Is that a valid concern?

  • I completely agree... and I must admit this is something that I forget to keep in mind as I am raising my daughter.

  • Habits are homeschooled before nuns wear them?.....

  • Yes!  Send me your dollar!  Thank you.  Then.....could you do me a little favor?  Go and get 3,998 of your closest friends to send me a dollar, too.

  • LoL. I don't know. But, how did you know that my blog was 340 words? LoL. Have a wonderful day.
