  • Accidental Art

I'm not sure if it's art, I just know I like it.  I like to play with my camera.  Sometimes I spend a great deal of time setting up a shot with just the right lighting, just the right composition.  I adjust the model, and take a second third ... tenth, until I get it just right.  Sometimes, accidents happen.  Last week we were at the zoo and I snapped a few (very few) shots of the kids.  When I reviewed the images later, I realized I had also taken one that I didn't intend.  I'm not sure why I like this one so much.  But I do.  So I'm sharing it with you.  What to you think?  Good one, bad one?  What makes it good or bad?  I'll go ahead and say I know that I like the light on my ring and the strands of hair in the bottom of the frame.  I'm not sure why I find it so interesting.  Is it because it's MY hand?  Or maybe it's because of the accidental nature of it all.  Anyway ... here's the photo.

  • There are no accidents.    I love it.

  • I actually love "accidental" photos.

  • I love pictures that look cropped like that. It's as if it was DONE on purpose to LOOK accidental, you know?? I like.

  • I think it's a great shot.  Interesting to accidentally snap a picture of your left hand... but I'm getting ahead of myself here.  Your hair colour is lovely and this shows it off in a very different way.

  • It's a great example of an accidental shot. The frame from your hair is perfect. I think it's also intriguing because despite the crispness elsewhere in the shot, the light on your hand is a little confusing, in combination with the high position of your dark cuff (hope that's the American word for it!). It demands a second look to work out that it's something actually quite ordinary.

  • I'm a little disappointed, when I uploaded this photo, it lost a LOT in the translation.  I had to reduce the size but that shouldn't have reduced the clarity so much ... Still thinking about this.

  • It is a vere lovely photo - the way you captured so much without knowing you did... that is what makes it beautiful

  • know what I love about it most?? The hair... surrounding the shot.. it almost puts your hand in a halo like shot... and your hair is beautiful!!!

    Hope you are doing okay...

  • the hair gives your hand an ethereal wispy glow. maybe that's it.

  • I thought diamonds were a girls best friend?

Did Neptune give you that pearl?

    Damn the man!

    Sail on... sail on!!!

  • Xanga just isn't a great frame to host the wonderful images sometimes captured in a magical moment of accident.  Or when we just flip off a click, whichever way you want to put it.   It's a wonderful photo.

  • looks nice for an accident

  • sometimes accidents produce the best memories...  This is a good picture.

  • xanga does somethung to the quality, you have to click on the image to get the full detailed view

  • My accidental pictures are usually of my shoe or something...

  • It is very interesting. I like the ring and the skin color. I also like how the hair(?) at the bottom looks like flames. It almost seems like it should be a book cover for a story about an Irish princess.
