I'm BACK!!!!!
I woke up early yesterday and drove through the pre-dawn hour in fog and darkness. By the time the sun was peeking down on me, I was entering the Mountains of West Virginia. Such a beautiful state. Bright sun shines down across the valleys on one side of the mountain and then you go around the curve to deep shadows, heavy fog and mysterious grottos. The sort of place that I wished I could take time to pull over and explore or perch on a moss covered stone for thinking. But I had miles and miles to go, about 600 if I figured it correctly. I forgot to reset the trip meter, so I'm kind of guessing.
It was a long day of driving - about 13 hours not counting the time I stopped off in Ohio to visit with lovingmy40s. We had a lot to talk about, but don't worry, I still have SO much more bottled up inside me from all the things I've seen, experienced and thought about during the past two weeks that there will be blogs galore as I work through it. If I do it right, you are going to see things that will make you laugh, make you wonder, and make you wish you had friends as super-cool as mine. I am absolutely the most BLESSED person I know.
I have been spoiled, indulged, and generally treated like a Queen for two solid weeks. You wanna see? This is from my room at Mary's house. I was greeted with my favorite dark chocolates and my friend even learned how to arrange flowers just to create this beautiful piece for me.

It's a lovely picture, but it does NOT do that flower arrangement justice, let me just point out. It was perfection made physical, that one.
I'm so honored you trudged behind all those coal trucks all that way just to stop by my little burg! But dang it, I wanted two weeks of you just for ME!!!
WELCOME BACK!!
Welcome back and I look forward to reading more!
Welcome back. What beautiful flowers those are!
Welcome home. I am glad your trip was safe.
I wonder if that was like London fog! (I doubt it.)
Welcome back! (And welcome back to me, too.)
It's odd to hear someone say this (especially since I get picked on about it alot), but I love West Virginia. I'm originally from there...you wouldn't believe the amount of cracks I get about that. Makes me want to hurt people. I'm glad you had a great trip!
Wow. And welcome home.
Yeah! You're back! I've missed you so......I'm thrilled you had a wonderful time. How great you got to visit with lovingmy40's! I would have loved to have been a little mouse in the room. I'm so glad you're home though.
Wow - sounds like a Royal Carribbean cruise ad
Welcome home and I am glad you had a wonderful time!
Welcome home! I can't wait to hear all about the trip...
Gald you're back and I can't wait to hear of your adventures. I've always wanted to stop like that, out in the middle of nowhere, just to think and enjoy the view. But, it seems that time is always breathing down our necks. Makes me wonder how much life we miss by trying to get the most out of life.
welcome back!
Welcome back! I hope your transition back to normalcy goes smoothly. :bighug:
She sounds like a wonderful friend. I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time.
Wow. Welcome back.
Mike
God Bless - Dale
welcome back
you deserved the royal treatment!
I get to post two comments on one blog!
A good secure web-based e-mailer is Hushmail - it is kinda like Hotmail without the spam. You have to log onto the account once every three weeks to keep it active - and you have the feature of encrypting mail going backwards and forwards between Hushmail accounts. (It is the most secure one around.)
 Wow, that's very nice!
Can't wait for your blogs!
That's wonderful! Welcome home!
Those flowers look like hell...
Sail on... sail on!!!
You made a long trip and what you say about travelling through the mountains of West - Virginia is wonderful . We imagine easily . But driving during 12 hours is hard . Roll , beautiful youth !
Love Michel
First off, WELCOME BACK!!!! Can't wait to hear all about your travels (and I'm green with envy, oh how I wish I had two weeks to journey around the country!)
I recently formatted my harddrive and I have no IM software installed at all - which do you use? I haven't chatted on any kind of IM thing in ages so I'm pretty uninformed (read: ignorant!) regarding what most people use now.
welcome home...belated but heartfelt nevertheless. For a moment there, I thought you were going to say that we wished we had friends as super cool as you. Made me chuckle. I thought...whoa!...love that chutzpah!
i'm impressed that you did all this driving alone. envious even. i'd love to hop in my car and drive. i just lack the nerve. someday though...i'll do it.
