  • The Morning After the Storm

Gray half-lit sky hangs over my hill today, where we are waiting for the sun, hiding in the mist.  It's not as impressive as the bowl of fog I enjoyed at Faith's home.  That fog was thick and white as the sea swelling and sinking in the valley we could see in it's entirety while we sipped our morning tea.  The fog around my house this morning is a quieter, softer, vapor that rises and curls around the trees and doesn't quite hide the sight of the deer who amble up from the grove.  Don't look for the deer in the photo.  I just stood there with my camera in hand and watched them until it was too late to capture their image.  But I can show you where they disappeared.

  • Pretty!!  So lush and green...  I can't see the deer, but I think I hear the birds.  When our kids were smaller, hubby would joke and say, "Look, there's a cloud on the ground!"  Of course, they fell for it a few times before they began to say it.

We live near a river.  When the sun is just high enough in the sky to begin burning it off, you can see the entire outline of it following the course of the river.  I always think it looks cool and times like that I think to myself, "Awesome!  God thought of everything!"  Thanks for sharing this.

  • Isn't spring just so incredibly LUSH -- and particularly in the fog?  What amazing pictures.  A lovely top of the morning to you!

  • Fog in the morning, there's something so magical about that.

  • WOW!  I wish our grass was that green!

  • Why is it when I walk through the fog, I'm always reminded of this 'B' picture in black and white, that I ended up watching on TV a long time ago when I was probably still in my teens (eons ago)-- titled The Incredible Shrinking Man...

As a result of which, I think I'm the only person I know who has fog-phobia.

  • Ahhhhhhhhh!  As a born-and-bred Hoosier, I have to admit - I LOVE INDIANA!!!!  It would break my heart to leave it again.

You wouldn't happen to have that second pic in something around 1024 x 768 size would you?  I would LOVE to have it on my desktop

  • Very lovely.  Fog in the morning.....

  • I can see the deer...

    cant YOU?

    Sail on... sail on!!!

  • This was so beautifully written that I honestly felt like it was the intro for a movie.  It reminded me of the lines spoken as the movie Rebecca is coming on just as you are seeing Manderley for the first time.  I love the pictures!  It looks so peaceful.

  • Ah.. so lovely and serene.. a blessing to behold

    Bright Blessings Chel

  • Gorgeous! Fog here is over the ocean mostly, and we can't appreciate it as well, because the colors are all the same...LOL!

  • Wow.. that is just beautiful!!

  • I love fog.  Air-drop me into the moors, wouldya?  :)

  • Actually Quilty there is no irony to my latest blog but there is humor if you know the circumstances. I'm heading to AZ to meet a young xangaddict who lives there. Here friends are convinced I'm actually a 54 year old axe murderer and some are even refusing to meet me. That's the humor.

Erhh actually it's kinda only funny to me and the young lady I think.

  • That's lovely.  I like fog too (unless I have to drive in it).

  • As much as fog annoys me when I'm driving, those are beautiful pics.  Fog can be mystifying and beautiful in a way!!  It's like the calm after the storm.  The clouds laying low...

  • what a joy to live in such a gorgeous place! indiana... i'd love to visit! i've been living in england for quite some years and always loved the tranquility (although people in hong kong called call it bleakness). now back in hk i'm always dreaming of having garden, with a stream running through it and have a walk in the woods every now and then.....
