One of Those Days -
Did you ever have one of those days where your thoughts keep jumping back and forth between Emergent Phenomena/Chaos Theory, the Law of Karma, and Jack the Ripper? And just when you start to focus in on something and you think you are going to form a coherent thought, the buzzer on the dryer sounds? Or you hear the dog crunching something that sounds vaguely plasticky but he swallows it before you can stop him? And you start looking for your favorite shirt to make sure it goes in the suitcase for the trip, just to suddenly realize that the 6 year old you absently waved to as he ran through naked, was . . . naked . . . for no reason you can imagine at 11:00 AM.
Did you ever head to the refrigerator to make lunch with the intention of "cleaning out the perishables before we leave on vacation" only to realize that means you'll have to convince the kids to eat something you make from cabbage, celery, carrots, sour cream, cottage cheese and a half a brick of Colby? So you feed them nachos using the Colby and the sour cream and call it lunch. (Dinner ought to be a LOT of entertainment.)
Did you ever put the fourth load of laundry in the wash, happy that there's only one more, only to have your son say "Mom, I forgot to clean under my bed (even though you asked him and he SWORE to you that he'd done it only an hour before) so you look and sure enough, there's at least 2 more loads of laundry hiding under there. Where do they GET all those clothes! And WHY are the ALL dirty!?!
Did you ever have one of those days when vacation is close, but not quite close enough? Or is that just me?

Often times going on vacation requires a lot of work...just for that bit of relaxation...only to come home to even more work...
Thanks for the laugh today though...I have so totally been there.
LMAO! Yes! Just before we headed off for Christmas vacation! ROFL! *hugs*
ROFL -- you know; I haven't been on vacation for so long that this all sounds enviable -- but oh, boy, I know for sure that it isn't. May the vacation be long enough, between the fore and aft-cleanings, that it all seems very, very very worth it!

I think I'm having one of those days today but with NO Vacation coming up! Your SO lucky have fun on Vacation!!
I do believe we all have days just like that.
hope yours gets better!

lol...and this is just your morning?!?! half my hair would be ripped out by now, and there'd be a big bald patch, one slowly increasing in size, showing!
Hell yes I've had one of those days. Sans the naked people running by, unfortunately. Ah well, sweet sweet vacation. Soon, I say. Sooooon!
Will your vacation be away from your laundry-creating family?
Girl - you definately ne3ed to call me ..... maybe I can get one of Grandma's xanax's for oyu
LOL.. doesnt everyone? I think I have those weekly. Ggrr..
Oh yes, I know that feeling well! Sadly, I don't think I can score any time off 'til April. Blargh.
LOL!!!! oh ... I miss having one of those days!!! Just me and hubby... and he is good about hitting the laundry hamper!!! heheh .. Even helps wash and dry it!! heheehe... Vacation... what's that? hehehe.... Happy entertaining supper!!! Hugs...Rose
It's just going to make you all the more thankful for the vacation when it finally comes. Where are you going anyway?
Yay! You are hilarious!
Aren't those days the 'normal' ones?
~Spot~
I have those daily
It's you.
I have those days when I'm feeling so inspired and want to get it down before I forget only to be interrupted until the inspiration passes. Much the same feeling as writing an inspired lengthy blog only to have it disappear and then you only feel like writing a short version and moving on. I guess we all have our interruptions and when the inspiration disappears we've got to wonder if it wasn't God's infinite knowledge telling us to forget it before we make a fool of ourselves? Great blog, Thanks!! o/

God Bless - Dale
We often are the prey of the events !!!!

Sadly, I do. And then some.
You really wouldn't want to see my house the morning we are supposed to leave in a 3 day camping trip. Suddenly every delegated job that was "no problem" has turned up un-done. That's when I start my pissed-off drill Sgt imitation, and the gleam of fear blazes suddenly in my family's eyes.....
But we always make it with everything we need, and eventually they forgive me.
*blush*
I'm guilty of doing that before. Unexpected dirty clothes, I mean.
Not the naked part. Well, yes, but that was many many years ago and it involved a sandbox...
All the time. Even when I'm not going on vacation...
I might know, if I could remember what vacation is!
are you supposed to clean out the fridge before vacation? and do laundry? what's wrong w/doing it when you get there? <grin>
A hardy YES! to all of the above, I think. You sound like you need a vacation!
Your leftover leftovers from lunch sound like what I call "stir-fry by default." Hope you can get it all together so you can go! Big (((((HUGS))))) to you!
"Emergent Phenomena/Chaos Theory, the Law of Karma, and Jack the Ripper?" Huh??
BTDT minus the four kids, just one! Have a great vacation!
It's me, too . . . in other areas than homemaking.
For the son: "Here's the soap. here's the washing machine. Knock yourself out."
About the vacation. I'm right there with you. It can't happen soon enough.
LOL You really did have "One of those Days!"
vacation.....vacation......
::stares into space thoughtfully::
ohhhh...i remember...i'm taking one this summer i think. to a camp...without my immediate family...shhh...it's a surprise...lol...
and those days?...oy...every other it seems at times. except the naked child part...she's almost 17 now...that would be more than disturbing.
