  • Taking Care of Me . . .

If you've been reading me long, you've heard mention of the bubble bath cure.  When things get tough, I light the candles, turn on the music and soak til the water gets cold.  Today I've been trying to have a "be nice to Terri" day and do homeschool at the same time.  SO the bubble bath isn't a good option.

I'm hanging out in my second favorite place.  My Big Blue Chair.  I LOVE the BBC.  It's a huge recliner with a built in massage and heat feature.  I'm wrapped up in a very soft blanket and I have incense burning on the table next to me.  It's a purely sensual indulgence.

Since the last time I posted a photo of my reading corner (location of the BBC) I've finished the corner opposite my chair, so this is what I see from where I sit . . .

I still haven't figured out the whole flash and light settings thing from my new camera so you can't see very well that the poster on the wall is the Rhododendron Window that I saw when I visited Dwaber for the tour of the Kokomo Opalescent Glass Factory.  The pencil drawing is one that Tim did several years ago of Michael and Tucher.

In the close-up you can see one of the two fountains and a fan that wormy sent me from Korea.  The newest addition to the corner is my Zen Garden.  If I had a better grasp of landscaping, I'd have a much larger one in my yard.

  • Zen garden! How cool! I'd just have this mucked up mess, but hey... *snickers madly*

I have a chair. No wait. I HAD a chair. It was this lovely rose-colored easy chair from La-Z-Boy. Then we got rid of Jeff's and he's claimed my rather petite and feminine chair. I will have to throw it away in another year. *cries* I have another place... it's my rocker/glider in our bedroom. However it's broken and full of unfolded laundry.

I seem to have a problem here... *g*

  • Very relaxing and zen-like.  Not sure what the attraction is for women and bubble baths, but it must be a universal thing.  I have yet to meet a guy who goes for it though.

  • Ohh I like the Zen garden! I have a very small wooden box that holds fine sand - has 2 different sized rakes and if you do that for awhile.. you really feel zen

  • I've always wanted a full-size zen garden, but it is far too dusty here to have one...

    ~sigh~

I pretty much comprehend the principles of them (even the miniature ones), though...  lovely!

  • What a comfort and quality of life ! great !

  • The bath sounds fabulous!  Baths are so relaxing...and such a great way to reduce stress.  I love that poster you have on the wall of the Rhododendron Window...what exactly was that??

  • A zen garden wouldn't be safe around here with all these cats..... I can imagine how relaxing it must be to smooth out the sand though..... honest....

  • I don't need the candles or the bubbles, the hot water is great enough for me.  My wife always tells me I'm crazy to soak in the tub but it is so-o-o rejuvenating at times.  o/

  • I'm not sure if you saw, but I left comments in your previous blog about the stained glass window.  Thanks for posting that link for me!  Also--another Gemini eh?  I see I'm in good company!  When's your birthday?  I noticed most of your profile is cleverly hidden.

  • I think that I need a BBC!

  • It's so unfair that women get to enjoy baths so readily. When you're 6 foot or above, you need a garden tub to be able to really relax, and those simply aren't cheap.

  • It looks very nice!

I left you a comment on your previous blog.  I tried to this morning but couldn't due to reasons I explained in my blog today.  I did want you to know it is a very moving blog.

  • You do not understand the finer points of a sandbox with five rocks in it?

    HA!

    Sail on.. sail on!!!

  • I do seem to recall the BBC!  Nice to see the view that goes a long with the BBC.    I can just picture you all warm and cozy, taking care of yourself.  You go girl!

  • AHHHHHHHH... Bear in the big blue house... Oh... Chair... LOL..!!! SOrry I took too many silly pills today!!! LOL!!!
What a way to relax... Zen Garden...hum... Think My Hubby would not agree to construction of that one... too much wind in Kansas!!! But...my own little one... Off to play... Hugs.. Rose

  • Very nice!  I'm off in search of a BBC.

  • Wow -- what a lovely set of tantilizing and relaxing things to see while looking up from a perfect book (read in a perfectly heavenly BBC).  I am in awe of your interior decorating.  I have NO such skill, sadly (and I can only imagine what would happen with a 2 and a 5-year-old and a Zen garden......!).

  • I love the BBC site.  Also like the tub thing.  I wear my slacks and go shopping for a whirlpool tub by getting over in them on the showroom floor. My tub in the house we left was a 6 footer and if I didn't hold on, I went under.  I'm looking for a 5 footer this time.  Also, I have something oriental in every room of the house.

  • ...ah, yes, to the BBC and your view! Do I see a quilt pattern emerging?  Love Zen gardens and the one you have - fun and soothing. MuSe

  • hee hee hee - I like the little sandbox (oops!  excuse me ZEN GARDEN!)

  • I'm with you on the bubble bath!!!!!!
Your corner looks great. You mentioned the flash of your camera - if you are more than 4-5ft. away it does not do a good job. But if you have a good picture program, you can lighten it up in there. I often do for some of my darker pictures, and it makes a world of difference. (((HUGS)))

  • Gotta take care of you! I did the bubble bath thing this afternoon with a new bottle of Coconut Lime body wash. Mmmmm~!
