  • If I Could Write . . .

When I start to write a blog, it seldoms comes out the way I wish it would.  If I could write the perfect blog it would be funny but not just a joke.  If I could write the perfect blog it would be profound but still something other people could relate to.  If I could write the perfect blog, it would inspire you to write long comments and maybe even email me to continue the conversation.  If I could write the perfect blog, it would be a gem, short and sparkly, requiring no use of the scroll bar.  If I could write the perfect blog it would contain equal parts of "I hadn't thought of that before" and "Hey, I'm the one who taught her that!."

In an exercise of the new calendar last night, I jumped back around and read past blogs I've written.  But even more than those blogs I read your comments.  One comment that hasn't struck me with much force until I saw it last night attached to diferent blogs by different people was "Now, THIS is the kind of blog I like to see on your site, THIS is what I come here for."  That got me wondering.

It feels very presumptuous of me to ask you (almost like I'm trying to get you to do my homework.)  But, I'm going to ask anyway.  If you could have a particular topic included in a quiltnmomi blog, what would you want to see?  I could revisit a topic that you thought needed a second look.  I could do something entirely new.  It might not be as funny, clever, sparkly, or inspirational as I would hope.  But, it would be a lot of fun for me.

  • Hmmm, having reviewed a few of your past blogs I'd like to see a summary. Something like a Shakespearean limmerick about cows referencing quantum physics in a practical christianity homeschooling course.

  • Rules of Engagement was one of my favorites of recent times....

  • Everything you write is interesting to me.  Just keep it up.  You have a great ability to take things apart and see them in the light.

  • Hey, asking your audience what they want isn't asking them to do your homework; it's asking them to do their own:  and rightly so!

I was a real fan of the "place of women in the world" series that you and Fugitive did.  They were long, granted -- but the focus-effort necessary to read them really paid off.  I love the deeply thought-through research pieces of yours that cite all sorts of erudite sources and bring it all together into a cogent modern POV.

  • Ya, everything you write is good stuff!!

I love the comforting guy!! ((((((Hugs))))

  • i LOVE your page...it's kick ass! i need some help in making one lol.... ~Kele~

  • ...what do I like about your posts? There are YOU!  MuSe

  • This is my first visit to your page and I must say, I love everything about it...funny stuff, stuff that makes me think, stuff I can identify with...plus a very pretty layout!  I say just keep writing whatever you want, even if it isn't perfect for everyone it will be perfect for a lot of people!

  • Gah! I would never presume to even suggest... I love reading whatever you write... whenever you write. Sometimes, I cannot comment, due to certain reasons... I find that some of my opinions do not frequently jibe... and rather than sounding contentious, I just wait till you (or anyone else I admire and read frequently e.g. LM40s, FDLC, Horsey, etc.) write something on which we can agree... so much more pleasant that way, I've found.

  • Be yourself.  That's what I like.  Thanks for the reminder about how to make my little friend!

  • presumptuous of you to ask US to be presumptuous?  (YOU are BRAVE!)

How about writing about what totally thrills you when it happens?

  • I don't have any suggestions... just wanted to stop by and see what others were suggesting

  • You're going to hate me for making this suggestion but I will anyway (cause it'll take you hours and hours to do)...I'd love to see an index to the blogs you've written in the past.  Why?  So I could go back and re-read them, of course! And now, just so I can see the cool dude with the sunshades:   ~Spot~

  • 1 don't sweat it. you have written blogs that have inspired long comments.  you have also written gems that were short and sparkly, requiring no use of the scroll bar. and you definitely have written blogs that  contained equal parts of "I hadn't thought of that before" and "Hey, I'm the one who taught her that!."

2 i always enjoy it when you write about the books you read.

  • I wouldn't know what to request.. you have a gift of covering a realm of topics and doing it well, so just keep doing that big help huh?

  • How about the place of women in the church. Spefically considering 1 Cornthians 14:33-38.

  • *smile* I'm just lovin' it here hon.. have a great weekend

  • UUmmm (don't shoot me) I also think you should compile a complete index of blogs you have done in the past (you can leave of the occasional "froo-froo" stuff) and link it in a module on your main page so people can click and read past entries.  This would help you reference in the future when you return to past topics to expound on them as well.

  • Since you ask, I like most all your stuff. What would it take for me to pen (type) a long reply? I don't know. I'm not usually verbose, though I teach Sunday school and teach frequently at work, and love it. But some of my favorite times are when we're having after dinner conversations with our good friends Bill and Pam. Charlene and Pam will carry the bulk of the conversation while Bill and I just relax and drink it all in (the conversation, I mean), occasionally interjecting a humerous, frequently silly, comment.

    That's home.

  • By the way, are you going ATA? We got such a good deal to Ft. Lauderdale and non-stop, too.

  •       (I just like the little devil)

  • How about this: if all the characters from cereal boxes had a battle royal, who would win? (sorry, that's more of a guy topic, I guess...) You always write great blogs, I'm sorry I don't get here nearly enough.

To make Mike Nesmith, it's *<?:^)

  • The "perfect" blog?  I don't think such a thing exists...to me it sounds strangely synonymous with the Loch Ness monster, or Bigfoot...You obviously have a wide audience of readers who enjoy your posts for reasons of their own...and they will continue to read your blogs, whatever you may choose to write.  What am I trying to say? hehe...You're doing just fine.  We enjoy your blogs or we wouldn't be taking the time to read them and comment regularly!

  • You know I like your recaps on books you've read, I'd love to see what you have to say about John Gatto! If you haven't read him, read him! If you have, write about him. Also I'm so dang infrequent on here now email me and let me know if you do, painterlyways@cox.net (The one on my Xanga site is fake)

  • see, I could sit here, playing about forever with the little smilies!

I need to recreate mine.  It's getting boring in my smily vault.  Insofar as what would people want you to talk about, I haven't been here long enough to say, but the question, I think, is what do YOU like to talk about best?  Cause, usually, that's the material you can churn out most smoothly.  I find anyway.

  •      Well, I started this and lost it so here we go again.

I agree with pjfweb,silverstorm77 and  SmoothSailing that we enjoy whatever you write about... really.  I have apparently missed a few though... sooooooooo...  I must also agree that the suggestion of Fugitive and Spotthecat1 are great!  I think it would be awesome to be able to have it indexed like that.. but a lot of work I know.

Well, there you have it... many opinions you can take and run with from here.  We know you'll be great.. whatever you decide to write... it's just who you are.

                  Hugs,

                         Deb

  • I'd like to read a blog about the most reckless thing you've ever done in your life, why you did it, and how it turned out in the end.  Hmm.  In fact, I may write a blog about the most reckless thing I've ever done in my life! LOL!

    God Bless - Dale

  • Dat is awesome and and
