  • Mostly for Women –

You know what I really like about winter? Loose fitting, sweatshirt and layers. You know why I like these clothes? Sports Bra.

I came late to the discovery of the sports bra as an essential part of my wardrobe. For years I had felt that I was too "buxom" for such a seemingly stretchy, flimsy looking item. But last year, I finally decided to try one. Now I’m preaching the good news of the sports bra to anyone who will listen. This has to be the single most comfortable piece of clothing I own.

Now if you are insistent upon "lifts and separates" as your priority criteria for bra purchases, I’ll tell you up front that you won’t be satisfied. In fact I have one dear friend who says that her husband refers to sports bras as inventors of "mono-boob." But, if your goal is comfort you can’t beat it.

If any men have managed to read this far, I offer this advice. When your significant other makes the switch, control any tendency, proneness, predilection, bent, bias, penchant, predisposition, or inclination to make remarks unflattering. Your restraint will contribute, help, aid, assist, advance and serve the cause of continued harmony in your home.

  • Yes darling I hear you SPORTS BRA CITY!!!! I have a black one I wear when I walk but it is comfortable....  I can't wait for the day when I am skinny enough just to wear the sports bra alone..

  • Yep, that side-effect of the "uni-boob" isn't very attractive.  I think they're great to work out in, but I like a good firm underwire that lifts, separates, and makes my ta-tas look like something out of a undies ad.  Now if I could just find something as flattering to cover my dimply ass.....

  • Hehehe...Best bra made not as a Sports bra is a Bali, but everytime I find one that I like and fits and is comfy, when I go back to get more they have stopped making them....WHY!!!!!

  • I like my sports bra.  It's good for major cleavage. heh  I usually wear it under a button-up shirt, it looks like a tank top underneath.    I don't wear it all the time, however.

  • I don't have big enough boobs to make a sports bra look right - they just squash me flat!!

  • Ok, got it... only comment to be made... "ugg, woman wear sports bra, sports bra good."

  • I like what you've done here! Yes I agree with you on the 'sports bra'...they are good to have.

  • I like my sports bra. It minimizes the overgenerous helping of boobs I somehow ended up with. But I like those big loose sweatshirts without a bra even better. Hey, I'm in my 40s, they're already sagging with help - might as well be comfy when you can.

  • I like those loose fitting sweaters and the layer look of winter too.  Why?  They cover my arms.  I inherited my grandmothers large arms (that's my grandma on DAD's side of the family).  Mom and my sister do NOT have this problem.  I tried a sports bra this past summer, but it felt like I was wearing a girdle, only higher up.  I gave it up.

  • Oh my!  Christine, I suspect you paid too much.  The best and most comfortable sports bras are the cheap 2 for $8 at Walmart version.

  • This is awkward...

I was recently told that men don't like sports bras because of, what was that word, "mono-boob". That couldn't be further from the truth, it's not like you see female soccer stars triumphantly ripping off their tops a showing off their Victoria's Secrets.

Wait... I think I'm on to something. Does anyone have the phone number to Fox?
